Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Vs iPhone 6 and 6 Plus: Which Has Better Graphics Performance? Is ‘Gapgate’ a Bigger Flaw than ‘Bendgate’? [+ VIDEO]

With the very tight competition among smartphones, mobile phone companies are reportedly scrambling to get ahead of each other in terms of specs, pushing their devices a bit too far than their capacity, resulting to certain problems along the way.
Among the specs that these companies are battling over is the graphics quality, which what most consumers are reportedly considering in making a purchase. Since the introduction of iPhone 4's Retina Display in 2010, android phone companies - including Samsung -have been racing to the larger, higher resolution displays.
And with Apple recently launching its larger iPhone 6 & 6 Plus that are more pixel dense and boast of the latest "Retina HD" (6 Plus), Samsunghas developed its own even-higher resolution display for the Galaxy Note 4.
There seems to be a problem with these specs upgrade however, as AppleInsider reported that the Cupertino company's enhancement to a Retina HD 1080 screen for iPhone 6 Plus ended up with graphics that were at times slower at their native resolution compared to that of the iPhone 5s' "rendering a challenging OpenGL ES 3.0 3D scene dropped frame rates from 24.4 to 19 fps."
Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 flagship are not immune to such dilemma and are said to have benchmarks far lower than Apple's 6 Plus and even less than half that of 2013's iPhone 5s. Judging on fps, the latest benchmarks reportedly reveals that Samsung's new Exynos-powered Note 4 drops down to 10.5 fps - about half of 6 Plus - in a similar test.
Samsung reportedly has pushed screen technology way too far of its own processor capabilities thus resulting to an extremely poor performance in high definition. It is said to have chosen the wrong screen resolution for its Note 4, based on the horsepower of its own Exynos 5 Octa Core Application Processor, or even that of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805.
Of course, this is just one of the issues that Apple and Samsung have to deal with regarding the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and the Galaxy Note 4.
Probably one of the latest controversies that Apple has been slapped with is "bendgate" wherein the devices' durability has been put in question after several users complained that the newest flagship can easily bend out of shape through normal activity. Several online videos - like Lewis Hilsenteger's of Unbox Therapy - have also emerged showing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus falling out of shape after being subjected to a certain amount of force.
Consumer Reports however proved after conducting its own "three-point flexural test" on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that 70 - 110 pounds of force is required to deform and break the device, which is unlikely to be exerted on the phone through normal daily activities. The test even revealed that iPhone 6 Plus can withstand deformity better than HTC One (M8), which requires 70-90 pounds of force to bend out of shape and for its case to separate from its body.

With Apple's "bendgate" also comes Samsung's "gapgate" flaw which is characterized by a wide gap in the side metallic rim of the Galaxy Note 4. While some users are reportedly concerned that the gap could make the device prone to damage from water and grit, Samsung has asserted on a statement that it "does not impact the functionality or quality of the Galaxy Note 4," according to NewsWeek.
Compared to "bendgate," "gapgate" reportedly is more of an aesthetic than a quality concern.
