The month of August will not see any new Android tablets being released, but we still can make a strong article containing some of the best and popular models currently available for purchase. Check our list below and see if you can find a new favorite Android tablet.
All the models are listed by screen size in descending order and by manufacturer, so you can start looking at 12-inch monster tablets and then ending with some smaller 7-inch models for Samsung, Kindle, Google and all the other manufacturer category. Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
The Note Pro 12.2 tablet was launched in January at CES 2014 event. This tablet is one of the best models currently available and it is also one of the most expensive Android devices ever released.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2
This is another huge Android device that has been launched at Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas. Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 comes without an S Pen stylus, but it still should offer a great Android tablet UI experience.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1
The 10.1 inch model of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is not very different looking than its bigger 12.2-inch big brother. It is still a great device and if you don’t want to buy the bigger versions, then you should take a close look at this 10.1-inch version.
Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 packs the 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 Octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB and 32GB internal storage. You can expand the storage up to 64GB using an external microSD card. It runs the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat build and it features NFC, Wi-Fi capability, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
This was a device that was launched in 2013, but Samsung had in mind this year when they’ve decided to present it. It has a 2560 x 1600 resolution 10.1-inch Super Clear LCD screen and it currently runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
The 8-core 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 Octa CPU is powering the tablet along with 3GB RAM, it is available in 32GB and 64GB variants, its storage can be expanded with an extra 64GB via external microSD card. If you are a fan of taking pictures then you should know that the 8MP rear-camera should offer you enough quality when it comes to capturing your favorite life moments.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition 16GB model can be purchased from Amazon for $479. The 64GB model is priced at $519.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 with the 10.1 inch screen is a great alternative for those of you that don’t want to buy a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab Pro tablet. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 models are cheaper and are packing great hardware.
With the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 tablet you will get a 10.1 inch TFT screen, 1280 x 800 resolution, 1.2 GHz CPU power, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage. The storage can be increased up to 64GB with an external microSD card.
The 3.15MP camera is not the greatest, but it provides decent quality for daylight photos. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 model can be purchased from Amazon for $319, Whiteor Black models.
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet
MWC 2014 has brought us the Xperia Z2 Tablet, one of the best models ever released. It is a great device that is destined for users who are looking for a tablet that’s not Samsung-designed.
In Sony Xperia Z2 tablet you will find a 10.1-inch TFT display with 1920 x 1200 resolution, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, water and dust resistant screen, 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, 3GB RAM, 8.1 main-camera, external microSD support, 16GB or 32GB storage, NFC. The specs-part of this device looks good, but its best part would be the UI because it looks and feels perfect every time you are stressing the device by running several tasks at the same time.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9
The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 model from Amazon was launched almost two years ago. It packs an 8.9-inch IPS LCD 1920 x 1200 screen, 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4470 CPU, WiFi capability, BLuetooth, USB 2.0 and LTE support.
The operating system is a modified Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is available with three different storage versions: 16GB, 32GB or 64GB.

Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
The Fire HDX is the sequel to Kindle Fire HD model presented above. It is an upgrade from the previous model as it comes with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, 8.9-inch IPS LCD screen.
Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is powered by a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM and it runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, it is an Amazon-themed Android look. The tablet comes with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4
This Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 model is the smaller device in the Galaxy Tab Pro tablet family. It has been presented this year in January at CES 2014.
Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 features 8.4-inch Super Clear LCD display, 2560 x 1600 resolution, 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, Android 4.4 with Magazine UX, 4800 mAh battery, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 8MP main camera, 2MP front-facing camera. It is a great tablet that is also cheaper than other similar models released by Samsung’s competitors.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0
This is a mid-range tablet that will soon be classified as low-range because of the limited hardware capabilities. However, it is still a great device that you can buy for your children or for some of your elderly relative.
It offers a basic Android 4.4.2 experience and it packs a 8.0-inch TFT display, 1280 x 800 resolution, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, support for microSD card, WiFI, 4450 mAh battery. The main camera measures somewhere around 3.15MP while the front-facing camera only 1.3 MP.

LG G Pad 8.3
This is a tablet from LG that was presented last autumn and that it has been recently updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It comes with a full HD screen and it looks great, it is one of my personal favorite tablets ever released.
The 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU along with 2GB RAM are offering you enough power for running any type of video game or Android application. The screen is its main asset as it measure 8.3 inches and it has a 1280 x 1980 resolution.

Kindle Fire HD
This tablet has been launched almost two years ago with a 7-inch IPS LCD screen, 1280 x 800 resolution. It is great device if you love reading books online and want to stay streets ahead of all the other readers.
Kindle Fire HD packs a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP CPU, 1GB RAM, 8 and 16 GB internal storage, 1.3MP camera. The installed OS is a highly modified version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
If you want to buy the Kindle Fire HD then you can get the 8GB model from Amazon for $139. If you wish to get the 16GB model, then you will have to pay somewhere around $170.
Kindle Fire HDX
The 7-inch model of Kindle Fire HDX is currently on sale from Amazon. The pricing has been set at $199 and I personally think that it is great deal if you’re currently looking for a great tablet which you can use to read books online, stream movies and tv shows.
The Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch model packs an IPS LCD screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution, LTE, WIFI, 2.2 Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, 720p video recording with the 1.3MP camera. Its default OS is the Fire OS 3.0 Mojito, it is a customized variant of Jelly Bean.
Get the Kindle Fire HDX tablet from Amazon for $200, the Wi-Fi only model. If you want 32GB Wi-Fi Only then you will need to pay $219 while the 64GB Wi-Fi Only variant costs $239.
Nexus 7 2012
The 2012 variant of the Google Nexus 7 was probably one of the most popular tablets ever released. It was running the stock Android OS and it was usually the first device to receive the latest Android updates.
Nexus 7 2012 packs 1GB RAM, 1.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, 16GB or 32GB internal storage. Other features: 4352 mAh battery, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC support.
Get the Google Nexus 7 from Amazon for $146.99, that’s the 32GB 2012 Wi-Fi model. If you want to get the Wi-Fi And 3G / 4G model, then you will need to pay $155.
Nexus 7 2013
The 2013 model of Google Nexus 7 tablet was an upgrade from the 2012 model. It is a great piece of technology as it comes with a full HD 1920 x 1200 7-inch screen, 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 16/32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3950 mAh battery.
The 2013 Nexus 7 is already updated with the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat build and it will probably be the first tablet that will get the future Android L 5.0 OS upgrade from Google. Other features of this devices: 5MP camera and 1.2MP secondary camera.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0
The 7-inch model of Galaxy Tab 7.0 is a low-cost device that you can always choose to gift to novice Android users. It packs a 7 inch screen, a 1.2 GHz CPU, 8/16GB internal storage, 800 x 1200 screen resolution. Other features: WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, 1.5GB RAM, 3.15 camera.
If you think that 8 or 16 GB storage isn’t enough then you should know that you can expand the storage up to 32GB using an external microSD card. This is low-range device and it might not be best tablet ever released, but you can still use it for installing custom ROMs or using it as a secondary Android device.
