High-end iPhone accessory company Grovemade is branching out and manufacturing a number of other goods.
Ken Tomita and Joe Mansfield anticipated a market for high-end products and co-founded the company in 2009.
Tomita credits Mansfiled for coming up with the initial idea.
"Fortunately, he had that vision and hypothesised that it was going to be a big part of lives. Not that many people were thinking that way then," Tomita previously told Design & Trend. "Specifically [about] iPhones. He identified that people were more fanatical about Apple products, especially back then."
Those people also typically care a lot about well-designed goods so Grovemade, which manufacturers its own products, is using its existing resources to offer more to customers.
What started at wooden iPhone cases has since expanded to tablets, business cards and now office organizers.
All of the products are hand crafted in Portland, Ore. where the company was founded. It remains in the city and has grown to about 20 employees that Tomita describes as a "ragtag crew" that mesh well culturally and are all passionate about its mission for quality products.
