This is what it’s like to switch from the Galaxy Note 3 to the iPhone 6 Plus

Is the iPhone 6 Plus really going to steal business away from Android? For smartphone enthusiasts and investors, that’s one of the most important questions of the fall shopping season, and the answer to that question could have a dramatic impact on both mobile ecosystems moving forward. It’s obviously far too soon to judge the long-term impact Apple’s first phablet will have on Android vendors, though early indications suggest that the larger iPhones are indeed pulling a huge number of Android users into the Apple’s ecosystem.

This is a topic we’ll be focusing on a great deal in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, however, a great expert opinion has formed over on CNET, where a longtime Galaxy Note users reveals whether or not the Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus has been able to replace his trusty Galaxy Note 3.

While we would describe CNET’s Tim Stevens as the nicest guy in tech, Stevens describes himself as an “avid user of the Samsung Galaxy Note series” in the context of a recent feature where he wonders if Apple’s new phablet can displace his Galaxy Note 3.

“My current daily driver smartphone is a Note 3, which earlier this year replaced a well-used (and well-loved) Note 2. (It’s also important to mention that the Note 3 will be succeeded by the Galaxy Note 4, which goes on sale in just a few weeks.) I primarily bought the Note because I wanted something with excellent battery life, but I was surprised to find myself relying on the stylus far more than I thought possible,” Stevens explained in the first of several posts that will follow him as he attempts to replace his Note 3 with the iPhone 6 Plus.
