Flagship Android phones can’t touch iPhone 6 in this speed test

Even though many smartphone enthusiasts were quick to scoff at the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for their seemingly substandard specs, reviews and benchmark tests revealed that the new iPhones, with their dual-core A8 chips and 1GB of RAM, can easily beat high-end Android devices that pack fast quad-core CPUs and 2GB to 3GB of RAM when it comes to performance. To further test the speed of the iPhone 6 and compare it with the current top offerings from HTC and Samsung, including the HTC One (M8) and the Galaxy S5, Phone Buff has put all three devices through the same speed test, recording their performance in the process.

All three devices were freshly rebooted before the test and were connected to the same Wi-Fi network during the test, which consists of loading the same set of applications, and then reloading them again.

Unsurprisingly, considering what recent benchmark tests for the new iPhones have shown, the iPhone 6 easily wins the speed test, with the HTC One (M8) coming in second place. Of the two top Android handsets, the HTC One (M8) turned out to put up a much better fight than the Galaxy S5, although it didn’t manage to outperform the new iPhone.
