Here’s one more way the iPad Air 2 will be more like the iPhone 6
Apple is preparing a special October press media event focused on iPad and Mac,according to many reports, where it’s expected to unveil a new 9.7-inch iPad model (unofficially referred to as iPad Air 2), which will share some design features withApple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 6. The recently released iOS 8.1 beta 1 version has already revealed that Apple’s next iPad will have a Touch ID fingerprint Home button like its latest iPhones, and Bloomberg reports the device will also feature one extra color option.
According to people familiar with Apple’s plans, the upcoming iPad will be available in gold — just as the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — in addition to the silver and gray options currently available for the iPad Air.
Interestingly, the iPad mini isn’t mentioned in the report, which seems to confirm previous rumors that said Apple will only launch new iPad Air models this year, with a Retina iPad mini successor expected to arrive only at some point later in 2015.
The publication also said again that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be launched next year, according to people with knowledge of the situation, without revealing any further details about the bigger iPad.
