Samsung just revealed its Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone in South Korea, and while we are dealing with an upgraded version of the original model, which was first released back in April, we won’t be able to buy the same, since the company stated that it is not planning to launch the LTE-A variant of the Galaxy S5 outside South Korea.
Well, that’s not really surprising, as the same happened with the Galaxy S4 LTE-A which was released exclusively in South Korea last year. For now, only customers located on the mentioned market can benefit of LTE-A networks, so mainly that’s why these devices are being limited only to South Korea, while in Europe and US, customers must head their attention to other handsets in case they want an improved version of the original Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Galaxy S5 LTE-A specs and features are quite impressive, the smartphone bringing Snapdragon 805 CPU, a WQHD Super AMOLED display (with 5.1 inch and 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution), 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 16MP ISOCELL rear facing camera, 2800 mAh battery, micro USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
Of course, the phone will also feature support for 225Mbps LTE-Advanced network speed and it will be made available in various models depending on the color your prefer: Charcoal Black, Electric Blue, Shimmer White, Sweet Pink, Copper Gold and Glam Red.
Currently, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A is available in South Korea through SK Telecom, where it is priced at 940,500 won, which is somewhere around $920. But, during the following weeks, the smartphone will also be released through other carriers such as KT and LG U+, though the exact launch date for the same isn’t yet known – we will update you with news as soon as something fresh comes out, so stay close.
