LG G2 Android 4.4.2 Update with Knock Code Rolling out at AT&T

A new Android 4.4.2 update for LG G2 is now being pushed to AT&T users. The new firmware version brings the highly-appreciated Knock Code software feature.

Because all the KitKat-specific goodies such as immersive mode, cloud printing, white status bar icons, transparent status and nav bars, color emoji support, new Location Menu, or full screen album art in the lock screen were patched in the previous AT&T LG G2 Android 4.4.2 update, the new software update was issued only to add the Knock Code feature. That’s why it only has a size of 39 MB, therefore it will be able to download it using your mobile connection without damaging your data plan. It’s also worth mentioning that the new Android 4.4.2 update for LG G2 is labeled D80020u.

I’ll remind you that Knock Code is some sort of expansion for the Knock On tap-to-wake feature, enabling the users to tap in a pattern to further improve the security of their devices.

Just like any other software update, the AT&T LG G2 Android 4.4.2 update is being rolled out in phases, meaning that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. As you may know, once your LG G2 becomes eligible to receive the new OTA update, you should receive a system update message in the notification bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. You can also check for the new update manually under Settings > General > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.

AT&T recommends to have your phone’s battery charged over 50%, but we all know you can perform the update with less than that. Anyway, you haven’t heard it from us.
