If you happen to own the LTE-A-enabled variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4, you should keep an eye on the notifications bar. According to Sammobile, the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A Android 4.4.2 update is now rolling out in Scandinavia.
As you may know the LTE-A-friendly smartphone was still rocking Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A Android 4.4.2 OTA update is being rolled out in phases, which means that the ETA may vary based on your location. Once your terminal will become eligible to receive the new software update you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions.
If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates. You can also grab the USB cable, connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A to the PC, then check for the Android 4.4.2 update via KIES.
The Android 4.4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A has build number XUCNG3 and arrives with the usual KitKat goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, cloud printing, color emoji support, full screen album art in the lockscreen, new Location menu, or immersive mode, along with updated Samsung native apps, slightly revised TouchWiz interface, performance boosts, and enhanced Samsung Keyboard.
Because the OTA update file could exceed 600 MB it’s highly recommended to use a stable WiFi connection while downloading the new firmware in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
