Apple’s best yet Retina MacBook Pros are already here

2014 Retina MacBook Pro Specs and Prices

After a leaked imaged suggested Apple may be getting ready to release new Retina MacBook Pro models this week, the company went ahead and updated its online stores with the 2014 versions of its top of the line laptop. All models received processor and memory bumps, with some versions also getting a price reduction, similar to what the company did with its 2014 MacBook Airs.
All 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro laptops now have 8GB of on-board memory, even the entry-level model that previously shipped with 4GB of RAM out of the box. All models also received a 200MHz processor speed bump compared to their respective 2013 versions. Pricing for the 13-inch models remains the same, starting at $1,299 and going all the way to $1,799.
The 15-inch models got their respective 200MHz processor speed bumps as well, and they all ship with 16GB of RAM standard. While the entry-level 15-inch model costs $1,999 just like its predecessor, the top model is $100 cheaper at $2,499.
Just like with MacBook Air models, the 2014 Retina MacBook Pro refresh appears to be rather small, with the new laptops still featuring Intel Haswell chips, albeit faster, instead of the Broadwell processors expected to arrive next year – and rumored to be found inside a 12-inch Retina MacBook model.
The regular 13-inch MacBook Pro (without a Retina display) is now also $100 cheaper, at $1,099.
All of Apple’s MacBook Pro models are already available to order on Apple’s online store, and they will be shipped to your door within 24 hours. International Apple online stores also list the 2014 MacBook Pro models as available for purchase.
The official press release follows below.
