At a media event in Mumbai, LG launched the G3 in the Indian market. The 16 GB/2 GB version will retail to the equivalent of $800 (Rs. 47990), while the 32 GB/3 GB model will set users back $850 (Rs. 50990).
The G3 will be available in three color variants in the country — Metallic Black, Silk White and Gold Shine. To incentivise the purchase of the quad-HD handset, LG is offering a discount of Rs. 5,000 on the G Watch (which costs Rs. 14,999 in the country), a QuickCircle case that costs Rs. 3,500 along with a one-time screen replacement worth Rs. 6,500. LG is also set to release 15,000 limited edition handsets that bear the signature of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
As for the handset itself, the G3 boasts a 5.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) SoC with 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, 13.1 MP camera that can shoot 4K video, 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC connectivity along with a 3000 mAh battery that is Qi complaint. On the software side of things, the G3 boasts LG's latest evolution UI on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
