Verizon Wireless and Motorola are pushing the official Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update files for the Droid Maxx smartphone right now. Check your phone’s notification panel and see if there is any new firmware available for download.
The new Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update will also be released for Verizon devices such as Droid Ultra and Droid Mini. It has the software version set to 21.11.21 and it brings multiple improvements over the previous Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
With Android 4.4.4 your Verizon Droid Maxx device gets enhanced stability, security tweaks, bluetooth connectivity, better camera picture quality, better photos taken in fluorescent lighting, improved dynamic range, support for pausing camera video recording, updated Verizon apps, VZ Cloud, visual voicemail features added, ISIS Wallet Mobile application is now live, Motorola Alert Application enabled for download, better battery life, and multiple other great features and functions.
The Motorola Droid Maxx device gets this update to Android 4.4.4 before the Moto X, which is currently one of the most popular devices at Motorola. Check your phone’s notification panel starting today and confirm the download and installation if you’re being told that there is a firmware available for download.
Alternatively you can choose to search for new files by yourself by going to Settings menu and then opening About Phone> System Updates and use the ‘Yes, I’m In’ button to look for updates. Note that the new Android 4.4.4 software version 21.11.21.obake-maxx_verizon.Verizon.en.US official update for Verizon Motorola Droid Maxx is being released in phases, so not all smartphones will get the new firmware files today.
The new update should hit all the Droid Maxx models by the end of this month, so you shouldn’t panic in case your device doesn’t get the KitKat 4.4.4 notification today. Note that this new firmware will only be sent to Droid Maxx smartphones that are running stock Android 4.4.2 firmware. If you’re running a custom ROM on your device then this update will not arrive.
