HTC’s upcoming Android Wear device may have just been leaked. Meanwhile, ZTE wants to shake things up a bit and Dell just can’t handle its popularity.
First look at HTC’s Android Wear device
A new leak of the upcoming HTC Android Wear device has just shown up, this time courtesy of @evleaks and a couple of his friends. This image claims to display what the upcoming device will look like.
It is important to note this is made by an artist, but it is claimed to be true to the device’s real aesthetics. We must mention this device does look like it’s made of metal, which would be a smart move from HTC.
Opinion: Don’t hold your breath on any of this, but also keep in mind @evleaks has been a very valuable source of leaks. Let’s hope HTC is willing to give us some details soon.
ZTE using Google Now Launcher as default
ZTE may not be the most popular manufacturer around, but they sure try harder than some of the big guys. The Chinese manufacturer has announced plans to use the Google Now Launcher as the default launcher for some of their devices.
The first smartphone to come with the Google Now Launcher would be the ZTE Blade Vec 4G, followed by a “high-end” device to come. Moving forward, Google’s launcher would be pre-installed in all devices sporting Android 4.4 and above.
Opinion: I do wish more manufacturers would stop the war against the stock Android experience. Simplicity is key, and all the UI modification usually end up being nothing but gimmicks.
Dell Chromebook sales halted in the USA
Dell’s new Chromebook has been amazingly successful. It has been selling so well that the company has decided to halt sales in the USA due to strong demand. This means Dell is selling more Chromebooks than they can really handle.
Customers have been asked to contact their sales department instead of simply having the ability to purchase the device online. This doesn’t mean the Dell Chromebook is no longer available, though. It just happens to be harder for consumers to find one. Education customers are said to have an easier time finding one.
Opinion: The Dell Chromebook hapens to be a very handy laptop. We got a chance to check it out earlier this year, and it’s no wonder it has been so popular.
