Lenovo plans to beat Google to the battle of smart glasses. Meanwhile, a mysterious device shows up in benchmarks and Meizu’s upcoming flagship gets a rumored release date.

Vuzix and Lenovo partner to launch smart glasses

Google Glass may be your best option when it comes to smart glasses, but it’s not winning the race to the rest of the world. One very picky market is China, and Lenovo has partnered up with Vuzix to launch their very own smart glasses.

The M100 smart glasses run Android and will be fitted for Chinese language support. It features bluetooth, GPS and its very own system, meaning this is a much more independent unit compared to Google Glass.

Price is set at $999.99, but we are not sure if this will change once the device reaches China.

Opinion: I have tested this device a couple times at events, and must say it didn’t seem as polished as Google Glass. Maybe things have changed by now, but it definitely doesn’t have that sleek and elegant look Google Glass offers, either.

New Coolpad smartphone surprises us with stunning benchmarks

Coolpad is not a company to relate with high-end smartphones, but the latest AnTuTu benchmarks prove the obscure manufacturer is ready to take on the high-end market. A mysterious device scored a whopping 44,785 points in the AnTuTu score.

This is a number very few of the best current devices can reach, so this is not something to be ignored. The device’s model number is blurred, but it seems to read as 8675 (not that such information tells us anything).

Opinion: Now this is a phone we would be interested in checking out. I wonder if the design and build quality will match that performance.

Meizu MX4 to be released September 2nd?

Meizu is getting ready to launch the MX4, the company’s latest and greatest. We have been patiently waiting for an announcement, and the latest rumors around Weibo say the device is to be unveiled on September 2nd.
