Samsung Galaxy F Spy Shot Hits the Web

Look, guys, some more Samsung Galaxy F rumors. It’s been a while (read about a week) since the tech publications didn’t talk about the alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 premium variant, but the handset is making the headlines again.

The first real-life photo of the Samsung Galaxy F has leaked online courtesy of GSM Arena. It looks like the handset caught on camera has an metallic finishing for the body, but it’s really hard to tell if we’re looking at real metal or just a metal finish applied over plastic (think LG G3).

Unfortunately, there’s no way to verify the veracity of the report, therefore we are advising you to take it with a pinch of salt. Anyway, it’s worth mentioning that previous rumors suggested that the Galaxy F would sport a metal body.

The rumors of a premium Galaxy S5 emerged even before the launch of the current Galaxy S5, some voices saying that the South Koreans may call it Galaxy S5 Prime.

Anyway, soon after the Galaxy S5 announcement, Samsung’s CEO denied the rumors talking about a premium variant of their flagship. It was either to protect the sales of the new smartphone (because some customers would have waited for the S5 Prime), or because the smartphone will not be an S5 variant. It’s rumored that the South Koreans are planning to release a whole new family of premium smartphones called Galaxy F.

If the rumors are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy F would arrive with a slightly larger 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution (1440 x 2560), but it would have the same size as the current S5, because of the thinner. Some reports are indicating that the Galaxy F will sport a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB native storage, microSD, and all the connectivity features worthy of a high-end smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy F is also expected to arrive with the same 16 MP ISOCELL camera, upgraded with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a fingerprint sensor, and a heart rate monitor.
