The Samsung Galaxy K zoom packs a 2,430mAh battery, less that you would imagine looking at its bulk. Still, Samsung has had a few iterations to optimize its Exynos chipset for great power efficiency and the Galaxy Note 3 Neo got great results with the same chipset (but bigger battery).
Despite its camera-oriented nature, the Galaxy K zoom has full smartphone functionality.
The phone/camera hybrid outdid the official 14 hours of talk time and we clocked it at 16 hours. That marks a small improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 zoom and more importantly an above average score in phone terms.

When browsing over Wi-Fi the Galaxy K zoom hit the official time right on the mark with 10 hours. That’s an excellent result beating the famous shooter Nokia Lumia 1020 by over three hours, though it is behind Sony’s 20.7MP flagships, the Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z2. The Galaxy S4 zoom once again lurks close by with a very similar score.
According to Samsung the web browsing time will drop by a couple of hours if you use 3G/4G instead of Wi-Fi.

The Samsung Galaxy K zoom also scored an excellent time at playing back videos. It’s another small improvement over last year’s S4 zoom and it matched the Xperia Z1 Compact (but is a couple of hours behind the big Xperia Z2 and its 3,000mAh battery).

With good standby power draw the Galaxy K zoom earns an endurance rating of 67 hours, expectedly a moderate improvement over the Galaxy S4 zoom.
We’ve taken plenty of photos with the K zoom without a heavy impact on the battery but obviously that will change if you use the powerful xenon flash. Also note that video capture puts quite a strain on the battery. Unfortunately, we don’t have a standardized way of measuring that so you would have to rely on our subjective remarks for those.
