The Galaxy S5 hasn’t been as overwhelmingly successful as Samsung might have hoped, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great phone with some of the most impressive specifications on the market. In fact, the Galaxy S5 features the very best smartphone camera on the market according to the photography experts at DxOMark, and now Samsung has released a video showcasing just how impressive footage recorded on an S5 can look.
In the short film, Samsung walks us through a day in Trieste, a picturesque city by the sea in north Italy. It’s clear that given the right photographer, the phone’s 16-megapixel camera can be put to great use. The filmmaker also takes advantage of the camera’s HDR functionality to give the video that colorful pop, transcending above what many would expect from a video captured on a phone.
When you watch the video, it’s worth keeping in mind that the footage was filmed in 1080p Full HD, but the Galaxy S5 is actually capable of filming in 4K as well. So if you ever visit Trieste, you might be able to create an even better looking short film than Samsung with your S5.
