One of the lightest, most durable tablets we’ve ever reviewed is back with some new tricks up its sleeve. In coordination with Sony, Verizon will be the exclusive carrier of the Xperia Z2 Tablet with 4G LTE when it releases later this month.
The LTE-capable tablet features nearly identical specifications to its predecessor: 10.1-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 6000mAh battery, 8.1-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 32GB of internal storage (with expandable SD card slot), IP55/IP58 water and dust proof rating and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The tablet is also compatible with a wide range of Sony accessories, such as the SmartWatch 2 Pro, the SmartBand, the BSC10 Bluetooth Speaker and several others. Verizon will be carrying each of these products as well in case you decide to go all in on the Sony ecosystem.
Verizon customers will receive an entertainment bundle with their purchase as well, which includes six blockbuster movies, an exclusive early access pass to “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” when it becomes available for digital download, and 90 days of free music streaming through Sony’s Music Unlimited service.
You’ll be able to preorder the device starting on Thursday, July 10th for $599.99 without a contract or $499.99 with a new two-year activation. If you secure a preorder before the release date, you’ll also receive a free MDR-NC31EM Noise Cancelling headset. The Xperia Z2 Tablet will be available on store shelves and online beginning July 17th.
