Rumors say that the iPhone 6 release next month will come with a lightning cable that will be able to be plugged into a USB port either way up.
Products currently available can be plugged into an iPhone or iPad either way around but still has the issue of needing to be lined up to plug in correctly. The new cable will be reversible at both ends.
The Guardian suggested that Apple had been working on the new cable for quite some time. "A patent filed in 2013 by Apple, however, describes 'reversible or dual orientation USB plug connectors' that can be plugged into any standard computer USB port to "reduce the potential USB connector damage and user frustration'," the paper says. "The connector design would be compatible with any current and future full-sized USB ports on computers and other devices."
Speculations are that the demand for a bigger iPhone screen is so great, that Apple may just sell 70-80 million before the year ends. Other hopefuls are looking forward to the iPhone 6's new battery, which is about 33% stronger than the iPhone 5S's battery.
The current iPhone 5S has a capacity of 1560 mAh. The 4.7-inch model will have 2100 mAh while the 5.5-inch model will have 2915 mAh. That means that the two sizes will have a 35% and 85% improvement over the last models battery, respectively.
With the coming release of the iPhone 6, analysts believe that there will be massive sales for the incoming Apple phone.
"As well as they did with the iPhone this quarter, with all the rumors of a new iPhone this fall, I was impressed with the results," said Van Baker of Gartner said about Apple's second-quarter. "That tells me when the next generation comes out, they're going to set the world on fire."
