Galaxy Note 4 fingerprint

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 undoubtedly the most anticipated Android smartphone of the second half of the year. As the Note 4 release date draws closer, more information about the new Sammy high-end phablet is hitting the web. Even though we already know most of its hardware specifications, the South Korean company always has a couple of aces up the sleeve when it comes to software features.
Those of you unwilling to wait until the official Galaxy Note 4 announcement will probably be glad to hear that more details of the smartphone’s software features have surfaced online. The information comes fromSammobile a trusted source when it comes to reports about unannounced Samsung devices. This time, the publication talks about Note 4′s fingerprint authentication features.
If Sammobile’s insider is to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will arrive with authentication features such as Screen Lock, Private Mode, Samsung Account Verification, and PayPal Payments. All these features are already pre-loaded on both the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha, courtesy of the Synaptics Natural ID swipe-based fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home button of the two devices, but Note 4 will add a couple of new fingerprint-centric features.
It seems that the new handset will also introduce Fingerprint Shortcuts, which enables the user to assign a shortcut to a specific app or function. For example, you can teach the Note 4 to launch the camera when you swipe with your thumb, unlock the phone while using your index finger, or launch the browser when swiping your middle finger.
The new leak also mentions about another interesting fingerprint-related feature called Web Sign-in. It looks like you will be able to match your credentials to a fingerprint so you can log into compatible web services. If the feature looks familiar to you is probably because you’ve used Samsung’s LastPass app.
I remind you that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution, octo-core Exynos 5443 / quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor (market dependent), 3 GB of RAM, 16 MP primary shooter with OIS and 4K video recording support, 16/32/64 GB storage, and microSD slot. Samsung will officially introduce the new handset on September 3rd at IFA Berlin 2014.
