OnePlus One Gets Official Android 4.4.4 OTA Update

The OnePlus One smartphones are currently getting the official update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Keep an eye on your device as the OTA Update roll out should arrive any time now in your region.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA Update is currently rolling out in phases and most OnePlus Ones devices should get all the new changes by the end of this week. There are several great new additions in this release such as the Clear Image camera software, sensors tweaked and some other fixes.

Your OnePlus One smartphone will get the update and with it there will be some improvements such as: Google Apps updates, new colder calibration for the display, proximity sensor tweak that prevents it from activating off-screen gestures when it is in your pocket, enhanced OS stability, increased capacitive button brightness, Clear Image, Quiet Hours Vibration bug has been fixes which prevents it from getting disabled, lockscreen not updating track info during playback bug fixed, Voice Recorder app microphone volume has been repaired, OK Google not launching Voice Search in Google Now has been fixed, ‘Viber Calls not working’ bug is fixed, PicasaSync now works, etc. There are tons of other tweaks that should greatly improve your overall Android experience.

The new Clear Image feature for the OnePlus One camera comes with the Android 4.4.4 OTA Update. This new addition offers OnePlus One users the possibility of taking photos at a much better quality. After you enable Clear Image you will force your device to stitch together ten individual photos and create a single super high-res picture. It adds better clarity, reduces noise for low-light conditions, and adds details where other cameras can’t do it. It is a pretty cool feature that you should try.

The update roll out to Android 4.4.4 KitKat for OnePlus One has been confirmed at OnePlus One forums here and here. Check your device’s software update menu starting today or wait for the update notification to arrive by itself, then confirm the download in case there is a new KitKat 4.4.4 build available.
