Sony Xperia Z3 Detailed Spy Shots Hit the Web

Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 are no doubt two of the most anticipated smartphones of the second half of the year, both expected to debut early September at IFA 2014. As we are getting closer to their release date, more leaked details are hitting the web. After we told you yesterday about Note 4′s fingerprint-centric software features, today we are bringing you some detailed leaked photos of the Sony Xperia Z3.

The spy shots leaked online courtesy of Xperia Blog, a trustworthy source when it comes to reports about unannounced Sony products. The new photos show the Xperia Z3 from different angles, revealing a much slimmer design than the one of its predecessor. If the photos prove to be the real deal, then the Xperia Z3 will be kept alive by a 3,100 mAh battery (the Z2 had a 3,200 mAh cell). A few days ago, when the Sony Xperia Z3 passed through China’s TENAA telecommunications equipment certification center, it was revealed that the handset will have model numbers L55t and L55u, the difference between them being related to support for different network standards.

Previous reports have revealed that Sony’s Xperia Z3 will be similar to the Xperia Z2 when it comes to hardware specifications. The former handset will have a faster processor, a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801, compared to Z2′s 2.3 GHz Snap 801 CPU. The new smartphone is also thinner and lighter than its predecessor. While the Z2 measures 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm and weighs 163 grams, the Z3 is reportedly 146.5 mm tall, 72.4 mm wide, and 7.35 mm thin, while weighing in at 158.4 grams. Both devices are identical in terms of screen, RAM, internal storage, and primary camera. Just like its predecessor, the Xperia Z3 arrives with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP rear-facing shooter, and 16 GB of internal storage with microSD support.

Because there’s no way to verify the veracity of the report we are advising you to take it with a pinch of salt. After all nothing is official until Sony says so.
