iPhone 6 preorders go live tonight
Apple fans, it’s time to set your alarms. Tonight is the night you’ve been waiting for —Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will finally become available for preorder. While demand for larger iPhone models as heavy as it is right now, sleeping through the night is a risky move. In fact, if a recent report is accurate, iPhone stock could be incredibly constrained at launch.
In other words, if you want to guarantee you have a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus in your hands on launch day, you’d better read all of the information in this post.
UPDATE: Preorders went live overnight and there were plenty of issues. It looks like all iPhone 6 Plus launch-day inventory is sold out but there are still plenty of iPhone 6 models for the time being.
Apple
First things first: iPhone preorders go live on Apple.com at 3:01 a.m. EDT, 12:01 a.m. PDT.
Click this link to go directly to the page on Apple’s site where you can configure and preorder a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. There, of course, you’ll be able to purchase any iPhone model for any carrier.
Here’s your on-contract pricing for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus:
- iPhone 6 16GB: $199
- iPhone 6 64GB: $299
- iPhone 6 128GB: $399
- iPhone 6 Plus 16GB: $299
- iPhone 6 Plus 64GB: $399
- iPhone 6 Plus 128GB: $499
Verizon
Verizon customers can also preorder the iPhone on Verizon Wireless’ website beginning at 3:01 a.m. EDT. Here is a link to Verizon’s iPhone 6 page.
In addition to standard on-contract pricing for Apple’s new iPhone models, Verizon Edge customers can get a new iPhone 6 starting at $0 down and $32.49 per month for 20 months, or an iPhone 6 Plus starting at $0 down and 20 monthly payments of $37.49.
AT&T
AT&T is offering iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus preorders beginning at the same time.This link goes to AT&T’s iPhone 6 page.
Pricing is typical for on-contract purchases, and AT&T Next pricing is $0 down with the following options:
Sprint
This link goes to Sprint’s iPhone 6 page. The carrier is offering the same on-contract pricing as everyone else, along with two off-contract options.
T-Mobile
Last but not least, T-Mobile’s pre-sales also starts at 3:01 a.m. EDT. Here’s a link to the T-Mobile site.
T-Mobile’s pricing breaks down like this:
- 16GB iPhone 6: $0 down and 24 equal monthly payments of $27.08
- 64GB iPhone 6: $99.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.08
- 128GB iPhone 6: $199.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.08
- 16GB iPhone 6 Plus: $0 down with 24 equal monthly payments of $31.24
- 64GB iPhone 6 Plus: $99.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $31.25
- 128GB iPhone 6 Plus: $199.99 down with 24 monthly payments of $31.25
Elsewhere
A number of Apple’s standard retail partners are offering iPhone 6 preorders as well. That includes Best Buy, RadioShack, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target and more. Some stores will be taking preorders in stores as well as online, and all stores will look to sucker you in with handset trade-in offers. Of course, your carrier will do that, too.
