It might not be safe to leave your iPhone 6 Plus in your pocketa

The reaction to the new iPhones has been overwhelmingly positive, but as users have begun to spend time with the devices, problems have inevitably begun to crop up. In fact, some users on the MacRumors forums have reported that after carrying an iPhone 6 Plus around in their pockets for an extended period of time, the phone began to warp.

In one thread, user “hanzoh” recounted a day with the iPhone 6 Plus, which involved the phone sitting in the left front pocket of a pair of suit pants for around 18 hours during a couple of long car rides and some dancing at a wedding. When “hanzoh” removed the 6 Plus at the end of the day, it was clear that the display was slightly distorted. A photograph was taken to highlight the bending of the device:

This doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue at the moment, but other iPhone 6 Plus users have made similar complaints over the past few days. Many other users in theMacRumors forum also point out that the iPhone 5 and 5s were susceptible to bending when placed under any kind of significant pressure for long stretches of time.

Although the damage in the photo above may look minor, MacRumors notes that as the Apple continues to design thinner phones, key components are more likely to be affected by any external damage to the device.
