New LG G2 Android 4.4.2 Update Rolling out
Verizon announced late August that their VoLTE service will go live in the “coming weeks.” Now we hear that Big Red is rolling out an update for their LG G2 variant that prepares the phone for VoLTE launch.
The new LG G2 Android 4.4.2 update arrives with Advanced Calling 1.0 which are basically the HD Voice and in-call Video Calling specific to VoLTE. It also fixes autocorrect issues, brings the ability to remove cancelled meetings from calendar, Mobile Hotspot UI prompt to connect has been corrected, and fixes assisted dialing for international numbers. It also brings upgrades for a lots of Google’s (Chrome, Gmail, Google Search, Google Plus, Mpas, Play Books, Play Games, Play Music, Drive, Photos, YouTube, and more) and LG’s native apps.
The new software update for Verizon’s LG G2 is labeled VS98025B and, as usual, it’s being rolled out in phases. This means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. You should know that once your LG G2 becomes eligible to receive the new OTA update you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. Alternatively, you can check for the update manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
There’s no information regarding the size of the new update, but it might exceed 500 MB. Therefore we are recommending you to use a stable WiFi network while downloading the update files in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
Are there any Verizon LG G2 owners reading this? Have you received the VS98025B OTA update on your terminals? Please let your fellow G2 owners know in the comments section below.
