The HTC One M8 smartphone on Verizon has been confirmed to receive the official Android 4.4.3 OTA Update next week. There aren’t any features confirmed but we think that it should feature some of the additions that will make way for the HTC One M7 later this week.
The news has been confirmed by Mo Versi, VP of HTC Product Management department, but there is no word on any changes included in this Android 4.4.3 KitKat new OTA Update. However, we can expect it to have multiple security patches and several UI enhancements that should make the KitKat much more enjoyable than ever before.
The Android 4.4.3 OTA Update should be the last KitKat firmware released for the HTC One M8 until the Android L 5.0 Official Updateis launched. After the L 5.0 is released by Google for their Nexus devices you should expect HTC and Verizon to launch the futureAndroid L files in 90 days after the official and final release takes place.
HTC One M8 on Verizon will be highly improved by the update and when this comes you should use a Wi-Fi connection in order to successfully download the update without going over your mobile data plan. All users on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile networks owning an HTC One M8 have already received the brand new Android 4.4.3 update. So, it seems like Verizon has remained the last US carrier to deliver the brand new KitKat OTA Update to its users.
Stick around our website in order to learn when the official Android 4.4.3 KitKat firmware will arrive for the HTC One M8 at Verizon. Make note that the update will only roll out for stock One M8 device, so you shouldn’t expect it to arrive for smartphones with modified ROMs.
