Motorola has officially confirmed that almost all of their 2013 and 2014 devices will be getting the future Android 5.0 Lollipop OS treatment. Between all those devices we have the Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and the Droid Maxx models along with Moto X, Moto G and Moto E models.
The new OS Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for the Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra will be launched shortly after the Nexus devices will get them. The Lollipop update will be shipped out first with the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices some time in early November.
Android 5.0 Lollipop might become one of the best upgrades ever released for smartphones, as it comes with a whole new Material Design UI adding a more smoother interface, more responsive operating system, new visual elements, Notifications menu major tweaks, Private Mode, battery saving feature, security improvements, Android Smart Lock, Device Sharing capabilities with Guest User support and tons of other great features. Check the Lollipop 5.0 dedicated web page here in order to all that there is to learn about this new Android build.
With Android 5.0 Lollipop and without any major tempering from Verizon you should be able to get a much more improved Quick Settings menu added to Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid mini. Now, since these devices are Verizon-branded it means that the new update will arrive most probably in 2015 after the 2013 and 2014 models of Moto X and Moto G Lollipop upgrades. Only time will tell if Verizon will rush the upgrades, but we surely hope that they will move fast and release the update before the end of this year.
