Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for Nexus 7 WiFi and Nexus 10 to Arrive November 3rd, Says Report

The latest version of Google’s mobile operating system is now official, but no one knows the exact date when it will be rolled out for the public. A new report claims that the Nexus 7 WiFi and Nexus 10 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be pushed to the user starting November 3rd.

The information surfaced online courtesy of Android Police who got word from “a reliable source” that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 will be the first to hit the users. As I was mentioning above, it seems that the update will start rolling out November 3rd, with both Nexus 7 WiFi 2013 and Nexus WiFi 2012 receiving the new firmware. To be honest, it’s quite odd to see that Nexus 5 is not among the first devices to get the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Anyway, the wording could also suggest that that the Nexus 5 and Nexus 9 Android 5.0 Lollipop system images could be released “later this week.” Later this week could actually mean today, when the SDK is expected to arrive. Anyway, it’s advisable not too get your hopes too high.

Android 5.0 Lollipop is no doubt the most major update Android has received since its debut. It’s even bigger than the jump from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. The new version introduces a new design philosophy – Material Design – focused on a more colorful and animated UI, more realistic shadows, and 3D effects, lockscreen notifications, redesigned notification panel and Quick Settings, dynamic status bar, native support for 64-bit processors, ART runtime, and more.
