Not long ago, the folks at HTC introduced the Eye Experience software suite synchronized with the debut of the camera-centric Desire Eye smartphone. Now, a new HTC One M8 Android 4.4.4 update is being pushed to T-Mobile users, bring the Eye Experience.
Because the HTC One M8 was released pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2, you won’t be able to see any major improvements when it comes to UI, but you will now be able to taste the camera-focused Eye Experience software features. The suite brings Face Tracking (keep up with to four faces during a video chat and show them in a split screen), Face Fusion (you can blend your face with another person’s), Split Capture (you can record with both front-facing and rear-facing cameras in the same time), and more.
As usual, the Android 4.4.4 update for HTC One M8 will be rolled out in phases, which means that some users might not be able to download and install it right away. As you may know, once your device becomes eligible to receive the new firmware you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. You know the drill: tap on it, choose “Download now,” wait until the download is completed, then choose “Install now.” Your smartphone should reboot automatically and install the new software. In case the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
According to the users who already received the new OTA update, the system file has a size of 256 MB. Therefore it’s recommended to use a stable WiFi network while downloading it in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
Are there any T-Mobile HTC One M8 users among you? Have you guys received the Android 4.4.4 OTA update? Please let your fellow One M8 owners know in the comments section below.
