The final KitKat build of Android 4.4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet is now live in South Korea and China. The update is rolling out for the Wi-Fi and 3G variants of Note 10.1 in South Korea, while in Chine it is released for the LTE model.
This new firmware update doesn’t add any new major features, as it only comes with various security patches and bug fixes. However, you should still install this new firmware as it will most probably be the final KitKat build that the Galaxy Note 10.1 will get, as Google will launch the brand new Android 5.0 L for their Nexus models and Samsung will start working on optimizing the new OS for their high-end tablets and smartphones.
Android 4.4.4 KitKat is being rolled out in phases, so you shouldn’t worry in case the new firmware build OTA update isn’t sent your way today, Samsung is planning on updating all the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets before the end of this month. It should arrive starting today for the SHW – M480W Wi-Fi model of Galaxy Note 10.1 and for the SHW – M480K variant in South Korea, while the LTE SHW – E320S is the Galaxy Note 10.1 variant to receive it in China.
Now that this new update has been pushed in Asia we can only hope that the rest of the world will get the Galaxy Note 10.1 Android 4.4.4 before the end of this month. If the update notification arrives for your device, then you should simply confirm the download and then your tablet will take care of the rest of the process for you.
In case the Android 4.4.4 OTA notification doesn’t shown up today, then you can try to use KIES software in order to see if there is a new firmware download available for your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Tell us in comments if you’ve got the update and if you’ve found any major changes.
