Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Android 4.4.2 Update Now Live at AT&T

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 was launched pre-loaded with Jelly Bean and the AT&T variant got stuck on this Android version until now. Samsung announced that the Galaxy Note 8 Android 4.4.2 update is now being pushed for the AT&T variant of the 8-inch tablet.

According to the changelog posted on Samsung’s website, the new Galaxy Note 8 Android 4.4.2 update arrives with security patches, multi-user mode, GMS apps update, while the Beat Music app is now pre-loaded. Of course, the new update will also arrive with all the KitKat-specific goodies including transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, cloud printing, new Location menu, full screen album and movie art in the lock screen, or color emoji support, along with updated Samsung apps and a smarter Samsung keyboard.

As usual, the Android 4.4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be rolled out in stages, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. Once your device becomes eligible to receive the new firmware, you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, choose “Download now,” wait until the download is completed, then select “Install now.” Your device should reboot and install the update. If the system update notification failed to show up, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for software updates. You can also check for the new update using KIES. Grab the USB cable, connect your Note 8 to the PC, then launch KIES and search whether a new update is available.

The new update has build number JZO54K.I467UCANI2 and even though Samsung doesn’t mention anything about the update file on their website, expect it to exceed 600 MB. Therefore, we are recommending you to download the update using a stable WiFi network in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
