The latest iOS 8 blunder: Bluetooth connectivity issues arise
No one expected the latest version of iOS to be flawless, but the amount of bugs users are finding seem to just keep piling up. We’ve already seen an iCloud Drive bug crop up this that which could result in the deletion of all your iWork files and now someMacRumors forum-goers are reporting that their iOS 8 devices are no longer pairing with their Bluetooth car audio systems.
According to MacRumors, these issues are affecting both iOS 8 and iOS 8.0.2 devices in a wide variety of vehicles, including Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Toyota and Ford. Apple is apparently aware of the Bluetooth bug with cars, but other users are noting that the issues are also arising with headphones, speakers and other Bluetooth devices.
There isn’t a foolproof fix at the moment, but some users have been able to (at least temporarily) connect to their cars via Bluetooth after “logging out of iCloud, forgetting connected Bluetooth devices, using the “Reset All Settings” and/or “Reset Network Settings” option on their iPhones and restarting, re-pairing their devices with their Bluetooth devices, and then logging back in to iCloud.”
This is a fairly complicated solution to what should be a simple issue, but it’s worth a shot… as long as you don’t have any iWork files backed up on iCloud Drive.
