Moto X 2014 Android 5.0 Lollipop Soak Test Started Today by Motorola

The Motorola Moto X 2014 Edition is the first device that receives the official Android 5.0 Lollipop Update before the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. This new update rolls out today for testers that are part of Motorola’s Feedback Network.

Now that the new operating system update is being pushed for user testing, then you can expect the official Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update to arrive for Moto X 2014 Edition before the end of this year if everything goes smoothly. The official Release Notes of Android 5.0 Update for Moto X were posted earlier by Motorola, the link is now dead, but we’ve managed to find a screenshot detailing some of the features added by the new firmware.The Android 5.0 software build is set to 22.11.5.en.US and it comes obviously with the latest Lollipop 5.0 operating system, Material Design user interface, notification controls, tweaked battery saver, on-device security greatly improved, device sharing functions, recent applications (multitasking), Moto Display and Ambient Display functions, Motorola Assist and Downtime, Flashlight, Pin a View / App, Smarter Internet Connections, Smart Lock, and more.

If the Soak Test is completed without major problems and no important bugs are found, then we should hope that the new Android 5.0 Lollipop for Moto X 2014 Edition will arrive in December. Keep in mind that in order to receive this update before anyone else and test it you will have to be part of Motorola’s testing network.

This new firmware of Android 5.0 Lollipop for the 2014 Moto X device measures somewhere around 200 and 400 MB, so you should make sure that you have enough space available for the installation to completely successfully.
