Acer C720 Chromebook gets a price cut
The Chromebook sports an 11-inch ComfyView LED-backlit TFT LCD display (1366x768p).
NEW DELHI: PCs and mobile device maker Acer has announced a price cut for C720, its Chromebook device. The laptop is now available at Rs 15,999 online marketplace Snapdeal as part of the ongoing Great Online Shopping Festival. It was launched last year at Rs 22,999.
The Chromebook sports an 11-inch ComfyView LED-backlit TFT LCD display (1366x768p). It is powered by an Intel Celeron 2957U processor based on Haswell architecture and 2GB of onboard DDR3L RAM. The C720 runs Google's Chrome OS and comes with 100GB of cloud storage space on Google Drive in addition to a 16GB solid state drive. Acer claims that the notebook boots in 7 seconds.
The Chromebook features an HD webcam (1280x720p), an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and an SDcard reader. It comes with two built-in stereo speakers and High-definition audio support.
In terms of connectivity, the C720 Chromebook supports Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. It has a 45Wh, 3950mAh, 11.25V 3-cell Li-polymer battery pack with a claimed battery backup of up to 8.5 hours.
Acer is also offering free Skullcandy headphones worth Rs 2,999 with each Chromebook.
Acer C720 is targeted at budget-conscious users, and people who have heavily invested in Google's ecosystem. Users can access photos, videos, music and documents anywhere, and create a back-up for all their data on the cloud.
The Chromebook mainly relies on web apps and the Chrome Web Store offers more than 30,000 of free, paid web apps, themes and extensions, as per Google. It automatically updates itself every six weeks to ensure the user has the latest software and security features.
