Huawei Announces Honor 6 Plus with Dual 8 MP Rear Camera and High-end Specs
Over the past weeks we heard that Huawei is ready to announce a new high-end smartphone. Well, that smartphone is now officially official and it’s dubbed Honor 6 Plus.
Huawei’s new Honor 6 Plus has finally launched in China and it’s the company’s statement that they can too manufacture high-end, premium devices. Furthermore, the Honor 6 Plus has a more competitive price than its main iOS and Android rivals. The new terminal arrives with Dual 8 MP rear camera, similar to One M8’s Dual 4 MP UltraPixel set-up and it has a unibody design with a metal frame around the edges. Honor 6 Plus is also very slim, having a profile of only 7.5 mm.
The new flagship smartphone of the China-based company arrives with a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, while being underpinned by Huawei’s in-house built Kirin 925 chipset. The Kirin 925 SoC is manufactured using big.LITTLE architecture and it’s based on four Cortex A15 cores and four low-energy Cortex A7 cores. It also integrates a Mali T628-MP4, 3 GB of RAM, and it’s LTE Cat 6. compatible with up to 300 Mbps download speeds. Honor 6 Plus is running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, customized with Huawei’s proprietary EMUI 3.0 interface (or Emotion UI 3.0).
According to Huawei, the rear-facing 8 MP dual camera setup is capable of grabbing more detailed photos, especially in low light condition. The cameras mounted on the back of the Honor 6 Plus allow you to refocus photos, adjust the aperture (from f/0.95 to f/16), or to apply various filters to your photos. If you are a selfie addict you would definitely be glad to hear that the user-facing camera of the new Huawei flagship has a resolution of 8 MP.
Huawei Honor 6 Plus also integrates 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, expandable with up to 128 GB using microSD cards. The device is kept alive by a 3,600 mAh battery which promises about a day and a half of usage on a single charge.
For the time being, the device will only be available on the Chinese market, it two variants. One with dual-SIM and single LTE support which has a price tag of about $323 and the other with dual-SIM and 4G LTE support for both slots, which will be priced at around $404.
