CyanogenMod Adds Support for Google Nexus 6, Android One Devices, and LG G3
Cyanogen has officially added support for the Google Nexus 6, Android One devices, and LG G3 (international model D855).
The news of the addition of three new devices broke out just few days after Cyanogen pushed out the first CyanogenMod 12 nightlies based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to around 30 devices.
Android Police points that currently the Android One builds are experimental. It notes, "Android One devices, owing to the control over software and hardware that Google has in that program, share a single ROM under codename sprout."
"We have been told that nightlies will be on the way within days from now," it added.Google Nexus 6 (also known as Shamu) is receiving the first CyanogenMod build and will come with addition of CyanogenMod 12 nightlies. LG's flagship G3 smartphone also received its first CM build with CyanogenMod 12 nightlies. For the uninitiated, a nightly build is a neutral build that takes place automatically, while a neutral build is one that reflects the current state of the source code being worked on by developers.
Cyanogen on Monday in a blog titled "The "L" is for Lollipop" announced the rollout of CyanogenMod 12 nightlies to over 30 devices.
The blog said, "Today [Monday], we are enabling CM12 nightlies to showcase how far we've come since. The full list of devices ready for tonight's first rollout is further below. We would like to note that at this point we consider ourselves 85% complete for our initial CM12 M release. We'll spend the remainder of this month bringing up additional devices and finishing up the features you've come to love from CM11 - implementing them into the new Material UI."
The full device list for first rollout include devices namely bacon, d802, dlx, e975, e980, evita, falcon, find5, flo, ghost, hlte, hltespr, jewel, jfltevzw, klte, m7, m7spr, m7vzw, m8, mako, mondrianwifi, moto_msm8960, t6, t6spr, t6vzw, serrano3gxx, serranoltexx, shamu, v500, ville, and vs985.
The company also revealed that some of the OS features including theme engine, quick settings reorganisation and customisation, quick settings ribbon mode, navigation bar reorganization and customisation, sound panel customization, and lock screen quick unlock were not implemented. Cyanogen however promised that these features should be rolling out in the next few weeks.
