Every new iOS 9.3 feature demoed in a hands-on video
Earlier this week, Apple released a beta version of its upcoming iOS 9.3 update for iPhones and iPads. The update brings a host of new features such as new 3D Touchquick actions, Night Shift mode and TouchID notes and much more. Now, 9to5Mac has put up a hands-on video that highlights everything that is new in iOS 9.3.
The video starts off by showing 3D Touch quick actions for settings. The iPhone 6sand iPhone 6s Plus users can deep press on the settings icon to access Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Battery. Users can quickly access the battery’s low power mode in just a couple of steps. They can also deep press on the weather icon to view different cities including the current location.
Next up is the Night Shift mode which works more like f.lux on the Mac. It lets users change the color of the display from warmer to cooler hues based on the sunset time in their location. The mode is pretty helpful for night time, which makes reading better to avoid strain on your eyes. Another addition comes to the Notes app, which lets you password protect your notes using TouchID.
iBooks now syncs PDF’s on iCould, letting users access them on iPad and iPhone. Another addition comes to the live photos. Earlier, when users edited a Live Photo, they lost the original photo. With iOS 9.3, users will now be able to keep the live photo, while saving the other still image.
iOS 9.3 also brings 3D Touch quick actions for Health app, where you can deep press to access dashboard and live activity data, and for App Store app where users can search, redeem, and update all apps right from the homescreen. Apart from these, Siri also adds support for new languages such as Finnish, Malay and Hebrew. Check out the video to see all the new features of iOS 9.3 in action.
