Microsoft selfie app for iOS launched to makes your selfies look better
Microsoft has unveiled a free app that uses machine learning to improve selfies by taking age, gender, skin tone and lighting into account and beautify the overall photo.
Named “Microsoft Selfie”, the app enhances colour balance, skin tone, and lighting by using 13 filter options that clean up noise and add different themes to an image, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.
“The app takes age, gender, skin tone, lighting, and many other variables into account. It applies different models automatically and finishes enhancement with just a single click,” Microsoft wrote about the app on Windows store. ”Users can transform average photos into more presentable portraits in seconds. Key features of this application are noise reduction, intelligent enhancement, automatic exposure and colour theme,” it added.
The app has a feature that can detect the subject’s age from a photo.
“Users also have the option to press and hold on the ‘compare’ button to see how they would look without any enhancements,” the firm said.
Microsoft already has an app “How old do I look?” that allows people to analyse any image and guess that person’s age.
