If you happen to own an HTC One Mini you should keep an eye on the notifications bar as the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update is now being rolled out for your terminal. The new firmware update brings the much awaited Sense 6 UI on the mid-range smartphone.
It looks like the HTC One Mini Android 4.4.2 update is currently being rolled out for the European owners of the smartphone, but it should spread to other regions as well in the coming days. As usual, the Android 4.4.2 update for HTC One Mini is being rolled out in stages, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it on your device right away.
As you may know, once your terminal becomes eligible to receive the new firmware you should be able to see a system update message in the notification bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
The HTC One Mini Android 4.4.2 update is labelled 4.09.401.3 and has a size of around 500 MB. We recommend you to use a WiFi network while downloading the update file in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
Besides updating your HTC One Mini with the new Sense 6 UI, the new software update also arrives with color coded themes for easy navigation, personalized font style, “Clear all” button for recent apps, updated Gallery and Camera apps, and Image Match function to find photos faster in the Gallery. The new Android 4.4.2 update also arrives with Extreme Power Saving Mode, support for POI (Points of interest) lication in Gallery’s Map view, updated BlinkFeed with new UI and smoother scrolling, schedule function for Do Not Disturb, and updated Music app.
