The original HTC One smartphone is currently getting the brand new Android 4.4.3 KitKat official update in Europe. It is being rolled out right now in phases, so you shouldn’t panic in case the OTA KitKat 4.4.3 Notification hasn’t been sent your way.
Android 4.4.3 Update should be the last KitKat build released for the HTC One M7. HTC is planning on jumping straight to Android L when this will be launched next month. All the changes that other Android devices got after updating to Android 4.4.4 are now incorporated in this KitKat 4.4.3 release.
Android 4.4.3 KitKat adds the following changes for HTC One M7: OpenSSL security fixes, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Mobile Networks tweaks, Camera improvements, Gallery app optimization, Settings menu now features Power History and HTC Sync Manager support. The HTC Sense 6.0 update is also included and it comes with tweaks for HTC BoomSound, Extreme Power SavingMod, Motion Launch and Quick Settings.
The Android 4.4.4 security tweaks are included in this release, so we won’t see any other KitKat build until Android L is readied by HTC for release. The update zip measures somewhere over 550 MB, so you should use the Wi-Fi Connection in order to download it on your device. Firmware version is set to 6.09.401.5.
Check the notification panel of your HTC One M7 and see if the Android 4.4.3 KitKat Update is available for download. If there are any new files ready to install you should simply confirm and then wait for the smartphone to complete the update automatically.
