Nexus 9 Release Date and Price Are November 3rd and $399

After months of rumors and endless speculations, the highly-anticipated Nexus 9 is here. We first learned about the device back in June and, since then, the rumor mill didn’t stop talking about it. Besides revealing the full specs list of the new tablet, Google also revealed the Nexus 9 release date and specs. As expected, the new tablet debuted alongside the Nexus 6 whose release date and price are listed here.

Just like it was previously rumored Nexus 9 is manufactured by HTC and it arrives with a 4:3 aspect ration screen. Even though we heard that the tablet will have “zero-gap aluminium” construction, the new tablet comes with a soft touch plastic back reminiscent of the one of the Nexus 5 and a brushed aluminum frame around its body. It’s available in three body colors: Indigo Black, Lunar White, and Sand and it’s compatible with a folding keyboard case.

Nexus 9 is 22.25 mm tall, 153.68 mm wide, and 7.95 mm thin, while weighing at 425 grams (WiFi-only variant). The device integrates front-facing stereo speakers with HTC Boom sound and it will be available with in two connectivity variants: WiFi-only and WiFi + LTE.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered tablet features an 8.9-inch IPS LCD TFT display with QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution, while being underpinned by Nvidia’s 64-bit Tegra K1 chipset based on two Denver CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and a Kepler 192-core GPU. The device also comes with 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of native storage, and a 6,700 mAh battery.

The new tablet has an 8 MP primary camera with f/2.4, 29.2 mm focal length, autofocus, LED flash, and a 1.6 MP user-facing camera. Connectivity-wise it brings WiFi ac, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0.

Google officially revealed that the Nexus 9 release date for the WiFi model has been set for November 3rd, while the pre-ordering begins October 17. Nexus 9 LTE 32 GB and the Sand color option will become available later this year.

The cheapest Nexus 9 costs $399. We are talking about the 16 GB WiFi-only variant. For the Nexus 9 32 GB WiFi you will have to pay $479, while the Nexus 9 32 GB LTE will set you up at $599.
