Predictions for Apple’s October event

Apple’s October event is just around the corner — actually, it’s this Thursday, the same day we’re celebrating our eight-year anniversary. In any case, Apple is holding two events this year, similar to last year. The first September event was focused on the iPhone and upcoming Apple Watch, and the second event most definitely is going to include updates to the company’s computer line.

It could be really interesting if Apple introduces not just a new Retina iMac with an insane better-than-4K resolution display, but also the rumored new Retina MacBook, which is going to be off the charts if it’s ready.

Here are my official predictions:

• New iPads. Thinner, faster, gold color option, 2GB of RAM, and potentially a new multitasking interface, as rumored.
• Re-imagining of the iMac, Retina display, potentially different color options
• Updates on Apple HomeKit, new partners, possibly utilizing the Apple TV as a hub.
• Updated Mac mini.
• OS X Yosemite release after event, or soon thereafter.
• Wildcard could be brand new Retina MacBooks, finally getting rid of the Air label and just offering a MacBook and MacBook Pro going forward.
