AT&T has pushed earlier today the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat official update to Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 devices.
Check the Software Updates menu or wait for the official OTA notification to be pushed to your Galaxy Mega device. If the new update is ready for installation then you can simply confirm the download and after that the device will take care of the rest of the process.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat I527UCUBNE7 official OTA Update for AT&T Galaxy Mega comes with the following changes: support for a new NFC-based transaction platform via HCE (Host Card Emulation), apps printing support and print services, new storage access framework that should offer you the possibility to access images, documents or any other type of file from any document storage providers, multiple messaging apps selection added so that you can enable Hangouts support for SMS or any other messaging app.
Other changes added are the Full-screen immersive mode, new white KitKat status bar icons, Process Stats from Developer Options menu, Beat Music and ISI Wallet are now pre-loaded, Air View is not set to OFF by default, Camera Shortcut added to lockscreen, security update service, Default Messaging app, GMS apps update, Wireless Printing support, Google Subtitles and Samsung Subtitles closed captioniong for all video players, and more.
The official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA (over-the-air) update will arrive starting today and you will be notified via your device’s notification panel. Make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network as the files you are about to download are pretty big and you wouldn’t want to go over your mobile data plan. Confirm the download and then your Galaxy Mega 6.3 AT&T will take care of the rest.
If the official Update notification isn’t sent today nor tomorrow then you can choose to check for new firmware files by yourself by going through Settings> More, and then About Device section. Open the Software Update menu and then tap ‘check for updates’ button. In case there is a download available then you should read the changelog and then confirm the Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware installation.
