The Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update is available for installation starting today for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 device.
Check your smartphone’s notification panel and see if there is any new firmware download available.
This new update by Verizon Wireless will add numerous changes and improvements that should refresh your Galaxy Note 2 Android performance. There are plenty of new features and functions such as support for the Samsung KNOX 2.0 security technology, Dual Persona added and other great new things that should make your device much more secure while making its interface feel smoother and faster than before.
With Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update for Verizon Galaxy Note 2 you will get Samsung KNOX 2.0, Dual Persona, TIMA Real Time Kernel Protection, Trust-Zone based ODE, Universal MDM Client and Samsung Enterprise Gateway, KNOX Generic VPN Framework, new keyboard options, Galaxy Gear 2 support, Google Play Newsstand, Google Drive, Photos app, Emergency Alerts App icon and more.
Along with all the new things things Verizon has added some fixes for popups shown by the Backup Assitatnt, the Search icon is not present in S Memo when there is no new memo, improved connectivity for streaming music, Samsung Gear Manager stability improved, favorite Contact info background is much more easier to read, better text alerts for various factory installed car kits. Also, the S Suggest and Samsung Music apps have been removed all together.
Your phone should also get a better battery life after installing the update.
Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update should roll out today in phases. Do not worry in case the new firmware files aren’t arriving today, as all devices will surely receive KitKat 4.4.2 by the end of this month.
If the official OTA Update notification isn’t sent today, then you can check for new files by going through Settings> More> About Phone and then verify the info that is listed under Software Updates menu. Confirm the download and the Galaxy Note 2 KitKat will take care of the rest of the process automatically if there is a new firmware available.
After the update is complete you should see the “KOT49H.I605VRUFND7″ firmware version listed in the ‘About Phone’ section.
Note that the new Android 4.4.2 OS update will not be delivered to Verizon Galaxy Note 2 users that have installed a custom ROM on their devices.
