Now that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is already up for grabs and the excitement over the alleged Galaxy S5 Prime is starting to fizzle down, both the Samsung enthusiasts and the tech publications are turning their attention towards Sammy’s next major release, the Galaxy Note 4.
As we are getting closer to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date (rumor has it that it will be introduced at IFA Berlin 2014 in September) more details of the company’s next-gen flagship phablet are starting to emerge.
After we told you earlier last week that the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in two processor variants, now we hear more about the smartphone’s screen resolution. Talking about the screen, it was reported last week that Samsung is planning to offer the Note 4 in two screen variants: a standard flat screen model for mass marketing and a curved screen model for niche markets.
The Samsung web profile for a device labeled SM-N910A (which is likely to be the AT&T variant of the Galaxy Note 4) is indicating that, just like the rumor mill speculated, the Note 4 will have Quad HD (1440 2560) resolution display. The said web profile doesn’t reveal more about the device, but it’s nice to have a confirmation for an old rumor.
If the rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy Note 4 will have the same display size as its predecessor, 5.7 inches. I personally believe that the size will be increased to 5.9 inches, as the South Koreans made a habit out of increasing the Note’s screen size 0.2 inches per year.
Reports are indicating that the new Samsung smartphone will be underpinned by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, that it will have 3 GB of RAM, fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor, and a 16 MP ISOCELL rear-facing camera with Optical Image Stabilization. In fact it was rumored that the Galaxy S5 would also sport a optical image stabilization, but the sources in the industry indicated that Samsung can’t manufacture enough OIS modules, therefore they have ditched the technology from their current flagship.
What are your expectations for the Galaxy Note 4? Are you looking forward towards any particular software features or technical specifications? Please let us know in comments.
