Soon after the HTC One M7 Android 4.4.2 was released in other regions of the globe, two Australia-based carriers announced they are currently updating their One M7 variants with the latest HTC interface.
Because all the KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, new Location menu, cloud printing, color emoji support, immersive mode, or full screen album art in the lock screen were patched in the previous Android 4.4.2 update for HTC One M8, the new software is meant to upgrade the interface to Sense 6.0 and to fix bugs.
The Sense 6.0 update for HTC One M7 arrives with a refreshed interface design, updated HTC native apps, updated BlinkFeed, improved camera app, Extreme Power Saving Mode, and more. Furthermore, some of the native HTC apps have been moved to Google Play store, allowing the Taiwan-based company to update them quicker.
The HTC One M7 Android 4.4.2 update with Sense 6 is now rolling out OTA for bothVodafone and Optus users and has a size of around 690 MB. It’s highly recommended to download the update file using a stable WiFi connection to avoid unwanted data charges.
As usual, the new software update is being rolled out in stages, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. As you may know, once your HTC One M7 will be ready to receive the Android 4.4.2 OTA update you should receive a system update message in the notification area. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to to check for the new firmware manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
