Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 Update Now Being Pushed to US Cellular Users

We told you yesterday that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 OTA update is rolling out for Verizon users. Starting today, the owners of the US Cellular variant of the smartphone will also be able to enjoy the new software update on their devices.

US Cellular has officially announced on their website that released the Android 4.4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Just like any other software update, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 update is being rolled out in phases, meaning that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. It’s also worth noting that the new firmware will upgrade your baseband to version R950VXUCNE2 and that it has a size of over 500 MB, therefore it’s recommended to use a stable WiFi network while downloading it to avoid unwanted data charges.

Once your smartphone will become eligible to receive the new firmware update, you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. All you need to do is tap on it and follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification fails to appear, you can also perform a manual check under Settings > About device > Software update > Check for software updates, or you can grab the USB cable, connect the phone to the PC and check for the new firmware via KIES.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.2 update is set to bring KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, full screen album art in the lockscreen, camera shortcut in the lockscreen, cloud printing, new Location menu, or color emoji support, along with minor TouchWiz UI design tweaks, updated Samsung native apps, improved Samsung Keyboard, and performance and security boosts.
