ASUS officially revealed that they are now rolling out the Android 4.4.2 update for their Transformer Pad TF701T, so if you happen to own this particular tablet you should keep an eye on the notifications bar.
As you may know, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T was still rocking Android 4.3, but the owners will be able to taste the KitKat goodies starting today. The ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T Android 4.4.2 update arrives with the usual KitKat features such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, cloud printing, new Location menu, immersive mode, color emoji support, or full screen album and movie art in the lock screen, along with bug fixes, performance improvements, and updated ASUS native apps.
As usual, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update is being rolled out in phases, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. Once your tablet will become eligible to receive the new firmware you should be able to see a system update message in the notification bar. Tap on it, choose download, wait until the download is complete, then select install. Your tablet will reboot and apply the update.
If the Android 4.4.2 system update notification failed to show up, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About tablet > System update > Check now. If the update doesn’t appear after a manual check, it might mean you would have to wait a few more days.
It’s also worth noting that the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T Android 4.4.2 update file might have a size of over 800 MB, therefore it’s recommended to use a stable WiFi connection while downloading it. Also, don’t forget to have the tablet charged at least 40%.
Are there any ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T owners reading this? Have you guys received the Android 4.4.2 update on your device?
