This week’s list of best Android video games brings probably one of the strongest lineups this year. With Batman Arkham Origins, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Modern Combat 5 Blackout, Solarmax 2, the Great Prank War and the King of Fighters ’98.
Most titles that are listed below are available for purchase and only the Batman installment is available for free installation, but it still packs some in-app purchases for those that wish to complete the story faster and easier than others who want to play games the old-fashioned and normal way.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout – $6.99:
This is probably one of the most popular FPS Android video games currently available. The fifth edition of Modern Combat video game series is now live and it comes free of any ‘in-app purchase’ element which means that you will get exactly what you have paid for.
For FPS fans this games has everything: online multiplayer, character classes, weapons and unified game progression, a great single-player campaign, class-specific skills, rewards, achievements, customizable controls and more. It is great title and you should give it a try if you have $7 to spare.
Modern Combat 5 Blackout can be installed on all Android 4.0 devices and it can be found at Google Play Store here.
Note that the download size of this game is quite big as it is somewhere around 900MB, so you should use the Wi-Fi connection in order to install it on your device.
Batman Arkham Origins – FREE:
NetherRealm Studios has finally launched the Arkham Origins title for all Android users. This is an arcade fighting title that will pit you against some of Batman’s worst enemies.
The game is free to play and you will simply have to defeat any thing that the games is throwing at you. Also, make sure to collect capes, armor, batsuits and all the other things added by the developers. The game is packing exclusive Batsuits for Android and you shouldn’t stop playing until you unlock them all.
If you decide to connect the mobile edition of Batman AO with your Batman Arkham Original console version, then you can unlock multiple other great things. Get all the rewards and earn in-game currency if you want to get your hands on better weapons and goodies faster, as that’s the only way you will manage to complete this game.

The King of Fighters ’98 – $3.99:
A game that’s all about fighting and that it was launched more than a decade ago for computers worldwide. Now you can install it on your mobile device and bring all those thrilling fights to your Android phone’s screen.
The best thing about KOF ’98 is that it allows you to connect via Bluetooth Multiplayer Mode and play against your friends and see which one is the best at 2D arcade fighting style.
The King of Fighters ’98 can be bought for $3.99 and it can be installed on all Android 2.3.3 and later devices from Google Play Store here.
It doesn’t contain any in-app purchases.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – 3.99:
The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, or TMNT, is about to be released worldwide and Nickelodeon has decided to release the official mobile game for it.
In the TMNT for Android game you will be able to play as Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo or Raphael and defeat all bosses, mutanys and the Foot Clan. Your sole objective is to try and protect the city against all evil that’s thrown at you by the game.
The combat system is pretty intuitive as it is merely a hack-and-slash game. Make sure to use the in-game store in order to improve your chances using the ninjutsu attacks, training skills, weapons, boots and more. Note that the game features in-app purchases that allows you to buy extra currency, but you should stick to earning your coins by defeating your enemies instead of taking the easy way out.

The Great Prank War – $2.99:
Cartoon Network’s hit animated series name Regular Show has now received its official video game iteration, The Great Prank War. You can check it out starting today on your device while attempting to defeat all your enemies and get back the control of the park.
The Great Prank War video game features Mordecai, Rigby, Skips, Muscle Man, Rigby and other characters from the Regular Show cartoon. You will have to defeat Gene, the manager of East Pines park who managed to use a time machine that he used to go back in time and win the Great Prank War. Defeat him and you will win the game.

Solarmax 2 – $2.79:
I’ve kept this game last as it requires you to own a slightly better Android device, hardware-wise. Solarmax 2 is a great real-time strategy Android game that will have you colonizing planets, mining for resources and building the best army in the galaxy in order to win the war.
Colonize as many planets as possible, build your own starfleet of super space ships and, make sure to be careful every time you think about making a decisive move as all your progress can be vanquished after a single mistake.
Complete all the 36 missions that are progressively getting harder as you advance further into the game, use the triple speed settings in order to unfold the gameplay events faster and enjoy the game’s soundtrack. Discover all the tricks and use them in order to defeat all your enemies in order to complete this game’s story.

There are no in-app purchases in this game, but you will have to pay $3 in order to install it on your device.
