New AOKP 4.4.4 Nightly ROM Build is Available Now, Adds Support for Sony Xperia Z2 and OnePlus One

The AOKP team has released today the latest Nightly KitKat build based on the stock Android 4.4,4 OS. With this new firmware we will get support for two additional devices: Sony Xperia Z2 and OnePlus One.

With the new build you will get all the basic stock Android 4.4.4 KitKat features as well as many extra AOKP elements that will add a whole new feel for your smartphone. The AOKP KitKat Nightly builds are already launched for numerous other Android devices and the latest two added are Xperia Z2 and OnePlus One devices. For the installation you will simply need to download the file from AOKP Device’s web page. After the download is complete you simply need to install a custom Recovery in order to install it.

The AOKP Nightly 2014-07-31 builds are based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat AOSP and you will find the following changes: call stats feature is now back, loads of device specific updates, bugfixes, tweaked apps, some battery life enhancements, translation updates, and more. Those of you who don’t know how to update your Android device should stay away from custom ROMs. You need to root the phone first, then install a custom Recovery and use it to flash the new ROM builds. Also, besides the ROM file you will need to install Gapps, too.

Custom ROMs are great for those that wish to get rid of all the bloatware and similar things installed by carriers and device manufacturer’s. Usually, the AOKP Nightly Builds aren’t very stable, but the latest ones are pretty reliable and you should give them a try.
